The handover of the donation to the Association for the Promotion of Rare Diseases, headed by Prof. Dr. Mark Berneburg from Regensburg University Hospital, was a cause for celebration for the Gammel Engineering team. The MZ also reported on our innovative fundraising campaign - the direct involvement of our many business partners in the distribution of the Christmas budget was very important.
In issue 3/2023, Holz-Zentralblatt reports on one of our many successful contributions to climate protection: our involvement in the energy partnership between Naturenergie Cham and Bayerwald-Käserei Goldsteig for more than 10 years. We stand behind our consulting and engineering services, including investment and operational support. We develop creative energy projects for our clients as if it were our own investment. Enclosed you will find the detailed report in the HZ.
And once again we were able to bring joy to people with a special ordeal. Prof. Berneburg from the Association for the Promotion of Rare Diseases at Regensburg University Hospital visited us in Abensberg today. In a moving conversation, we talked about the orphans of medicine. We speak of rare diseases when there are no more than 5 affected persons/10,000 inhabitants. Over 4 million people in Germany suffer from a rare disease. On average, their ordeal lasts 7 years before the disease itself is even recognized. But even with a diagnosis, there is little help because research by the pharmaceutical industry is not profitable and is not publicly supported. Medical care is extremely difficult, especially in times like these. Networking and awareness, even within the medical profession, is unfortunately still very rudimentary.
Welcome to our family! Last weekend, the newspaper MZ reported on the hurdles faced by our dear new employee Yücel Yasa from Istanbul. The system planner from Turkey is happy in Abensberg, as is the entire engineering team. After more than 3 years and many surprises, we were finally able to welcome the CAD designer with her husband and 6-year-old son in Abensberg.
Our trainee Christina Triltsch got the team off to a perfect start in the new year 2023. On 23.01.2023, she passed her oral exam with flying colors after her written exam!
As Chairman of the Kelheim Chamber of Industry and Commerce committee, our Managing Director Michael Gammel expressed his assessment and expectations regarding the Amazon settlement in Rohr/Stocka in a considered but clear manner. The logistics park is a great opportunity for our district and enhances our attractive economic region. After all, according to the project development, around 1500 new jobs will be created - people need additional living space. Modern concepts with employee housing are also available in the surrounding communities. In addition, there is a unique opportunity to combine renewable energy (e.g. PV, wind or biomass) for heating/air conditioning with mobility via electric or hydrogen vehicles. From the outset, sound models must be used to set the course for smooth integration into the region and demanded by the approval authorities.
There was great joy on both sides when Managing Director Max Oblinger and authorized signatory Thomas Zweier were able to present Gammel Engineering GmbH with the donation from our Christmas campaign. We are innovative and have come up with something creative for Christmas: More than half of our customers and business partners took part in our Christmas voting and voted enthusiastically!
For 25 years, our authorized signatory Dieter Lichtenberger has not only enriched our company with his expertise and acquisition skills. His open personality also ensures a good, positive atmosphere throughout the team. Dieter has significantly shaped and expanded the project development division over many years and then managed order procurement as a key account over the past 10 years. Thanks to his in-depth knowledge of the market and industry, we have never had any capacity utilization problems. Whenever there's something to celebrate or even at the legendary "Friday nightcap", Dieter is always a good mood maker and a popular conversation partner. 25 years have welded us together - a wonderful friendship over many years that we hope will never end. Dear Dieter, we look forward to many more years with you!
Nothing nobler than helping! Not being able to help is the hardest thing. Not wanting to help is the most pathetic. With these words, the management of Gammel Engineering GmbH called on its business partners to vote for the recipient of this year's Christmas donation. For many years, it has been a matter close to the heart of our company family to be able to help children and people with disabilities with gifts and personal commitment.
Our internal Christmas party took place on 21.12.2022. We were once again spoiled with culinary delights from the butcher Gernot Seefelder from Siegenburg. Organizationally, our Ingrid has once again left nothing to be desired! Thank you for making the party possible. As every year, the highlight was the auction, which has now become a tradition for us, where once again this year there were some rarities and beautiful gifts for sale to the highest bidder. A big thank you goes to our professional auctioneers Thomas and Martin and, of course, to all the hard-working bidders who once again donated to a good cause this year. We are delighted with the total proceeds of EUR 3600. This will be divided equally between the 4 institutions of our donation voting campaign: - Barmherzige Brüder Region Oberpfalz, Reichenbach - Cabrini-Haus Offenstetten - Förderverein für Seltene Erkrankungen e.V. Regensburg - Trifami Down Syndrome Support Group Waldmünchen Due to their long-standing close relationship with Cabrini-Haus Offenstetten, the Gammel family has also decided to double their donation. After this wonderful, entertaining evening, we are all the more looking forward to seeing you again after the Christmas vacations and to the new 2023 financial year! Until then, have a Merry Christmas with your loved ones. A happy, successful and hopefully peaceful 2023!
