On Tuesday, July 30, 2013, Mayor Robert Ilg and members of the Hersbruck City Council visited the cogeneration plant of Naturenergie Hersbruck GmbH & Co. KG. The representatives of the municipality wanted to see both the plant and the associated innovative technology of the Kombi Power system for themselves.

Acting in an ecologically responsible manner is a strategic goal of Stadtwerke Kelheim: the management and supervisory board of Stadtwerke Kelheim are therefore committed to renewable energies and opted for a combined power system based on an ORC system from Gammel. Thomas Winkler, a member of the management team at Gammel Engineering, supervised the project from the very beginning: From the project development and preparation of the business plan, through the system, approval and implementation planning as well as the tendering and award procedure, to quality assurance and monitoring of the implementation and support during ongoing operation.
Approximately 50 tons of (moist) wood chips are burned at full load operation, around 25 tons on average, every day at the natural heat power plant in Bad Mergentheim. The resulting energy is converted into heat and electricity. Stadtwerk Tauberfranken GmbH has built a district heating network to supply public, commercial and private properties in Bad Mergentheim, which distributes environmentally friendly heat throughout the city. Gammel Engineering was entrusted with the development of the business model, the system and approval planning, the tendering and award procedure as well as the implementation planning of the combined heat and power plant and the heating network, the project management and construction management as well as the quality assurance and monitoring of the implementation.
It's all about glory, honor and muscle power: Four Gammel employees didn't let themselves get carried away and set off on the Herrnbräu bike tour in bright sunshine - 94 kilometers, 320 meters of altitude and lots of fun!
