The boat took us from Kelheim to the famous Weltenburg Abbey. We were greeted on board with a glass of Prosecco, which tasted even better in the sunshine. For three quarters of an hour, the party was able to enjoy the Danube gorge in the most glorious Indian summer tones.
On arrival at Weltenburg Monastery, the delicious Weltenburg beer, which the Weltenburg monks have been brewing in their monastery since 1050, was already waiting in the monastery tavern. The barley juice served in the monastery tavern comes directly from the rock cellar via a pipeline. The beer is fresh, only lightly filtered and not pasteurized. This allows it to retain its incomparable, original taste. It was accompanied by Bavarian haute cuisine delicacies
After recharging our batteries, we went on a guided tour of Weltenburg Abbey and the world-famous Asam Church. Built and decorated by the Asam brothers between 1716 and 1739 under the then Abbot Maurus Bächl (1713-1743), the abbey church is one of the top achievements of European Baroque.
Afterwards, everyone was shuttled by bus to the Liberation Hall in Kelheim for the highlight of the day. Gammel Engineering supported the opening concert of the 150 Years of Liberation Hall festival week with a sponsorship. The Vokal Ensemble München performed the program "Immortal". Under the direction of Martin Zöbeley, the choir had thoughtfully captured the context of the construction of the Befreiungshalle in their choice of program. A requiem in Gregorian chant was performed in combination with choral music from Germany's neighboring countries. The anniversary concert commemorated the dead of the wars, but also the foundations of European unity. "To be able to experience this concert in this magnificent, historic setting is a real gift," said an impressed Michael Gammel.
On September 19, the symbolic starting signal for the drilling site facility on Neurieder Weg was given in bright sunshine - and we are delighted to be part of this forward-looking project as a planning partner.
What a weekend! With bright sunshine, warm temperatures and a fantastic mountain panorama, around 40 colleagues spent three unforgettable days together in Saalbach-Hinterglemm. From cozy hut evenings to sporty action moments, everything was included.
