Isar-Amper-Klinikum Haar generates its own electricity again!
Back to the roots! Among other things, two CHP modules (electrical output 400 kW each, thermal output 457 kW each) were integrated into the listed energy center from 1912. Even back then, the hospital was supplied by CHP - a coke-fired steam boiler with a downstream steam engine. In the 1970s, the switch was made to gas-fired steam boilers with steam turbines. In 2000, the hospital then switched to district heating.
The two CHP units are heat-led to cover the base load. The hospital continues to purchase heat from E.ON's CHP plant via the district heating transfer stations for medium and peak loads. The total thermal output of the control center is therefore 11,660 kW. Peak loads are balanced out with the new buffer storage tank (50 m³). The properties of the district hospital are supplied via an internal local heating network. As part of the modernization of the generation and heat distribution, the I&C technology was brought up to date. This ensures the greatest possible efficiency in the operation of the complex overall system. Energy is controlled by recording consumption and output for all generators and consumer circuits.Gammel Engineering would like to thank the IAK team for their trusting and constructive cooperation!

Handover of donations from our Christmas fundraising campaign
Having already reported on the results of our Christmas donation campaign, we are now delighted that all three donations have now been handed over in person.
It was particularly important to us not only to hand over the donations symbolically, but also to visit the facilities on site and gain an insight into their valuable work.
The Friends of Cabrini House was founded over 10 years ago and sees itself as a community of people who want to support the children, young people and adult residents of Cabrini House.
