"In 2014, the energy consumption of the industrial sector in Germany amounted to 697 TWh. According to the German Federal Environment Agency, around two thirds of this was required for the production of process heat. At the German company Maintal Konfitüren GmbH, Hassfurt/Main, the production of the required steam was also previously carried out in a very energy-intensive process using an oil-fired boiler
