Roadshow "Integrated energy supply with CHP - transformation to climate neutrality"
As part of the roadshow "Integrated energy supply with CHP - transformation to climate neutrality", which took place on Thursday, 20.04.2023 in Cham, steps were presented that are necessary on the path to a climate-neutral company and, of course, support and funding opportunities. The series of presentations included first-hand reports on the current status of developments, practical implementation and valuable operational experience. The breaks provided an opportunity for close discussions with representatives from politics and ministries, experts and users.
Dr. Stefanie Reil, Head of Project Development, presented the best practice example "Biomass cogeneration plant Cham - climate-friendly steam generation for the Bayerwald cheese dairy GOLDSTEIG and heat supply for the Cham district heating network with CHP".
For more than ten years, the biomass cogeneration plant operated by Naturenergie Cham GmbH has been supplying the local Bayerwald cheese dairy GOLDSTEIG with steam for sustainable cheese production without interruption and, via the associated 14 km long heating network, businesses, authorities, schools, the outdoor pool and private homes with heating. Every year, around 100 million kWh of heat and up to 25 million kWh of electricity are generated from sustainable wood energy from wood chips in the area via the steam turbine CHP process.
