Back in 2006, the management of the Schwaiger sawmill commissioned one of the first biomass-ORC cogeneration plants in connection with the construction of the new pellet production facility. The project development and planning of the plant was carried out by the Gammel Engineering power plant team. We were happy to contribute our expertise to the operation of the plants for a wide range of tasks.
In the meantime, the Schwaiger sawmill has grown once again and the heat requirement for drying sawn timber and chips has also increased.We were delighted that the sawmill's management appreciated our team's performance and also commissioned us to provide engineering services for the new combined heat and power plant.
The new biomass boiler has a firing capacity of 20 MW and an additional flue gas condensation system with a capacity of approx. 4 MW. The ORC module has an electrical output of 2.8 MW, which is fed into the public grid in accordance with the EEG.The furnace with moving floor, thermal oil boiler, economizer, condensation system, chimney and flue gas cleaning system have already been installed. The furnace is currently being lined with fireclay.

On October 13, 2026, we were pleased to welcome Ms. Annette Bauer, coordinator, and Ms. Anna Portner, president of the hospice association, to our facility. As part of our Gammel Family Social Fund, we presented them with a donation of 850 euros.
A forward-looking construction project will begin in Offenstetten with a ceremonial groundbreaking on October 2, 2026. A modern building complex for approximately 220 children and adolescents will be built in two phases.
New housing is being built on the site of the former Prinz-Leopold Barracks in Regensburg. On Friday, October 1, the groundbreaking ceremony was held for 226 subsidized apartments—adding another important component to the Innovation Quarter.
